Heapin’ Harvest….read all about it….

Little Artshram, host of Summer Art-Farm Camps at Rolling Century Farms on the Grand Traverse Commons, is celebrating its third successful summer of operation with a fun-filled Harvest Festival on Saturday, September 22 from 1:00 to 7:00 pm on the Farmers Market site at The Village at Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse City.

The festival is a community-wide, multi-generational event, with a cornucopia of activities for the entire family. The afternoon includes pastoral tours of the Community Gardens, luscious produce and local products from the Farmers Market, a down-home picnic and harvest feast, pumpkin/gourd sculptures, corn-doll making, stupendous scarecrow building, fall-flower crowns, face-painting, seed collecting, end-of-season gardening, apple/donut bobbing, a treasure hunt, puppet shows, art-making, music, and merry-making. The fun-and-fabulous entertainment will be provided by Seth Bernard and Daisy May, Mykl Werth and Capoeira with Helio, Harriet and the Love Fossils, and more!

The festival also includes an outstanding “walking-talking-really-good-auction” of exceptional, must-have items generously donated by a plethora of regional businesses and individuals. Proceeds from the Harvest Festival will benefit the Art-Farm & Community Garden Program, the GT Commons Farmers Market AND help to underwrite the children and family portion of the Great Lakes Bioneers Conference.
