El dia de los Muertos

The Little Artshram OUTLOUD! Girls have their first community art project of the year in the making and it’s about to be put on display!

Please join us and view our Ofrendas y Altares de Las Grande Abuelas which will be on display at the Dennos Museum Center beginning Tuesday, October 30, through Monday November 5th, 2007.

We will be present for a welcome reception of the OUTLOUD! artists, the members of Los Utrera—a traditional Son Jarocho band, and other community artists that have contributed to the Day of the Dead Altar Exhibit. Also on display is an exhibit of Calaveras, Ofrendas, y Altares: Arte del Dia de los Muertos.

Additionally, you are invited to a concert with Los Utrera on Saturday, November 3 at 8 pm in Milliken Auditiorium. Tickets can be purchased at (231) 995-1553 or online at www.dennosmuseum.org.

The OUTLOUD! Girls Creative Group begins it’s next 6-week session (of a school-year long program) this week.
This is a program for girls seven (7) years and older, focusing on art and food-making, care-taking each other, the earth and giving something back. We have loads of fun and doing good work too. We meet every Thursday from 6-8:30 pm at Penny’s Little Artshram Studio and Squirrel Gallery at: 311 1/2 Maple St., Traverse City, MI.

To register for OUTLOUD! and to find out about our other classes and community projects, call the Artcenter of Traverse City at 231-941-9488, or,
